A clinical medical assistant is a medical professional with a well-rounded skill set
in both the administrative and basic medical tasks involved in medical office.
The program will equip graduates in the basic competencies necessary for success in
an entry level Clinical Medical Assistant role in a variety of healthcare settings. Students learn to obtain
medical health information, administer medication, and record health histories, vital signs, and height and
weight. Students will also learn how to draw blood and perform basic laboratory procedures and learn the
basic administrative tasks of a medical office, including bookkeeping, answering phones, and scheduling
appointments.
A clinical medical assistant assists in the day-to-day tasks of running a medical

Once you complete this course, you may complete the required certification exam to
become a clinical medical assistant.
In order to enroll, you must
Pass a criminal background check.
Be at least 17 years of age.
Have proof of a GED or high school diploma.
Pass the Ability to Benefit Test in lieu of a high school diploma.
Pass the employee misconduct registry check (EMR).
Pass a drug screening.
