A network support specialist is an information technology (IT) professional who
designs, implements, and maintains computer networks, as well as provides technical support to users of that
network.
A network support specialist plays a central role in keeping computer networks
working effectively. They complete the routine tasks of maintaining a computer network. They also establish
and maintain appropriate security controls across the network, ensure that the appropriate people have
access to necessary parts of the network, install software, provide user support, and evaluate network
performance.
This program will equip graduates with instruction in operating systems and
applications, systems design and analysis, networking theory and solutions, types of networks, network
management and control, network and flow optimization, security, configuring, and troubleshooting.
Once you complete this course, you may look for an entry-level position in this
field. As you gain experience, you may be able to move up in your role to gain more responsibility or take
new roles in the IT field.
In order to enroll, you must
Pass a criminal background check.
Be at least 17 years of age.
Have proof of a GED or high school diploma.
Pass the Ability to Benefit Test in lieu of a high school diploma.
Pass the employee misconduct registry check (EMR).
Pass a drug screening.
